Science and Technology was created by man..for the benefit of mankind. Scientist invent and re-   invent, technology becomes useless if no one uses it. Science is borderless whether you are in another country or locally the by-product of science through research and development benefits all if  not a few. The superiority of man versus the advancement in technology should no be in conflict with ethics and the law of God. Neither it should run into conflict with mother nature.

The application of science and technology should benefit mankind thereby in so doing we are glorifying God as the source of all things. Man has always been threatened with extinction and the application of Science and Technology has the tendency to emancipate man from spiritual ignorance. To make life easier and productive  eventually bring him more closer to the image and likeness of God.

The mystery of creation becomes more evident as perceived not only by the human mind but by the heart as well. Since time immemorial the superiority of man (Adam) as the custodian of creation was unquestionable until the fall of Adam. Now the stewardship of creation will be expanded not only with science and technology but with the Trinitarian mysticism   is an account of the opening of heaven, a revelation of the Trinity’s interior life turned outward to the world, that links intimately to the sacraments, prayer, the church, and the ethical life of obedience. But, unfortunately, man's abused and negligence even threatens world peace and the environment itself. Thank God.. not all the wonders of Science and Technology has been discovered and rediscovered for the same reason as to avoid the chaotic condition that results from abused and negligence.

SEN. FERDINAND MARCOS, JR. PETITION THE COURT TO NULLIFY THE PROCLAMATION OF VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES LENI ROBREDO DUE TO ALLEGE ELECTORAL FRAUD

Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr.personally  filed  his election protest  before the Supreme Court, representing the Presidential  Electoral Tribunal (PET).

Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcor Jr., was  accompanied by lawyers and Political allies, in a 1,000 page petitioned, PET  to set aside  the proclamation  of Ma.Leonor Robredo and proclaim him instead  as the duly elected and rightful  Vice-President of the Philippines.

BongBong Marcos also submitted a 20,000 pages of affidavits, Certificates of Canvass and other supporting documents which is  according to him would provide  clear and convincing evidence to prove   the biggest electoral fraud in the history of Philippine politics.

His election lawyer George Garcia, pointed out that through a series of electoral frauds, anomalies  and irregularities, people behind the whole operation made sure  that Ms. Robredo would win and that Marcos votes would be reduced.

The petition stated that “The votes presumably  obtained  by protestee Robredo during the last elections  are products of electoral fraud, anomalies and irregularities. Furthermore, the votes of  BongBong Marcos were significantly reduced , manipulated  and altered to make it appear that he only placed second during the last elections.”  He is specifically  contesting  the election results in 39,221 clustered precincts in 25 provinces and 5 highly urbanized  cities all over the country.

In a Press Conference at Max Restaurant  BongBong Marcos revealed that his petition has three parts:

1.) The “Flawed” Automated Election System (AES).

2.) It concerns more of Traditional modes of cheating like vote buying, pre-shading, intimidation  and failure of elections, among others.

 3.)The third focuses on the unauthorized introduction of Smartmatic’s Marlon Garcia of a new hash code (or a new script/program) into the Transparency Server as well as the effects brought about by the unauthorized cosmetic change/manipulation.

Based on numerous testimonies and documentary evidences  several  violations were solidified and committed by both Commission on Election  and Smartmatic. 

a.) R.A.9369 requires, among others, that the AES to be used by COMELEC should “have demonstrated capability and been successfully used  in a prior electoral exercise here or  abroad”.  However  the Vote Counting  Machines (VCMs) supplied by Smartmatic  as a component of AES was an entirely new model ! It was never before used or supplied  by Smartmatic for any election, locally or abroad;

      b.)Thirteen (13) days before the election day, COMELEC issued a resolution  ordering the BOC’s not to transmit the Certificate of Canvass (COC) until all SD cards from the VCMs would have been uploaded or imported into their Consolidation and Canvassing System (CCS).

     c.) Six (6) days before elections , the COMELEC set up seven (7) regional hubs  the reconfiguration of SD cards without prior notice to the political parties and candidates , or any announcement thereof to the public . All this time, the national and local candidates thought that the SD Cards were being  configured  solely  at the Configuration room in the Sta. Rosa facility of   Smartmatic / COMELEC .

     d.) Instead of being  replaced by standby  CCS, thirty (30) affected CCSs were pulled out of the BOC’s custody, upon the order of COMELEC, through Executive Director Jose M. Tolentino.

  
e.) Unauthorized introduction of  a new  program  into the Transparency  Server  and the apparent  use of  fourth server ( called the Queue Server ) that was not subject  to review  by political  parties  and candidates  required by R.A.93 

                                               
BongBong Marcos in a Press conference pointed out that during the 2016 May 9^th election the voting public was made to believe  that all electoral data received  by  the three servers  DIRECTLY from the  VCM’s and that these were secured  by digital signatures and coded encryptions.this was a far cry from what truly took place.

“Data had to pass through the fourth server and it was here  where the results were encrypted and de-crypted.This being the case ,the integrity of the Data subsequently received by the CCSs, the Central Server and the Transparency Server  could no longer  be relied uponsince the purpose of encryption of the Data transmission is precisely to prevent  alteration or change” BongBong said.

Marcos  also noted that soon after  the unauthorized new  program  was  introduced at around  8:30 pm. On May 9^th, there appeared to be an abnormally high  turn-out of unaccounted  overvotes  of around 3 million for the position  of Vice-President.

The accuracy of the poll results and the reported irregularities should therefore be thoroughly investigated and determined, through the immediate conduct of Judicial Revision /Recount of the Ballots and the examination, system audit and verification of the voter’s receipts, election returns and related election documents.

SENATOR MARCOS SAID, HE WILL CONTINUE THE FIGHT UNTIL  THE TRUTH BEHIND THE REPORTS OF MASSIVE  ELECTORAL FRAUD IS EXPOSED TO THE PUBLIC. ”IT IS MY MORAL AND  SOCIAL DUTY TO THE FILIPINO PEOPLE  TO EXPOSE THE TRUTH, AND THE FRAUDULENT MACHINATIONS, ANOMALIES AND IRREGULARITIES WHICH DEGRADED THE THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED  MAY 2016 ELECTIONS, BY FILING THIS PROTEST, I OWE IT TO THE 14 MILLION FILIPINOS WHO VOTED FOR ME AND TO THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHOSE VOICES WERE IGNORED OR NOT HEARD”, MARCOS SAID. Mental Health Problems In The Philippines

FINDING DORY A FILM THAT TOUCHES THE HEART AND EMOTIONS

The Natasha Goulbourn Foundation, the Philippines Psychiatric Association, Globe and Ayala Cinemas who sponsored the showing of 'Finding Dory' a film about the importance of a Family as a strong emotional support that can lead to fortitude, wisdom, understanding family solidarity and friendship that transcends boundaries.

A short film review of the film showed the audience the importance of inculcating good, positive, sound and fundamental values in rearing children while they are young as they grow old. The tendency for them to nurture these positive values in life as inculcated early on their lives. Many of the characters include Marlin, Nemo, Turtle Crush, Hank the unforgettable Octopus played ala Superman, the savior in the life of Dory. Without Octo I think.. escape of Dory in the Marine cage wont be possible. Other characters that is equally amusing are Destiny, a near sighted Whale Shark and Bailey with an exciting radar telephatic x-ray that could read minds and find where Dory is. These symbolizes the claims that the parents laid on the sea bed to guide her child back home with pearls as her guiding light in Finding Dory. Heed your parents advice and listen to them.. it will lead you to a right direction when you grow old.

The Philippines Mental Health Problems

With the rampant drug addiction in our country The Philippine Mental Health had become the missing link in arresting the widespread drug addiction, Substance abuse as well. in  the fight against Drug abuse it's the victim who suffers the consequences of drug addiction aftermath and that is Mental illness. With the Mental health Bill now in Congress and the Senate. The youths chances of returning to a productive life after being exposed to the evils of addiction should be the number one priority of the Government.

The Objective of the Bills As Follows:

1. Ensure a community  of Filipinos who are mentally able to contribute to the development of the country and attain a better quality of life through access to an integrated well planned, effectively organized and efficiently delivered mental health programs in equity to their physical needs.

2.Promote mental health  protection of the rights and freedoms of person with mental health needs  and the reduction of the burdens  and and consequences of mental and brain disorders and

disabilities.

3. Provide the direction for a coherent rational and unified response to the nation's mental health problems, concerns and effort.

Various patient and family, professional, para-professional, legal, media, governmental and non-governmental, local and international groups have been consulted and their inputs have been incorporated and continues to consult other groups to be able to come out with a bill that is reflective of the mental health needs of the country. Yet the passage of the bill remains elusive. The Philippines lags behind and ranks itself among the minority of the worlds community of nations without the mental health legislation despite being signatory to a number of international covenants upholding the mental health of their population. Indeed no less than the holy book exhorts us all to do no less as it states"speak up for those who can not speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute" (Proverbs 31:8).

The Philippine Psychiatric Association (PPA), an affiliate of the Philippine College of Physicians. in total now has 495 members and still growing. Many thanks to Dr. Rhodora Andrea Concepcion and the rest of the officers and staff of (PPA) without them the success of the film Finding Dory won't be possible. Kudos also  with Dr. Ed Tolentino, Jr., Dr. Fareda  Flores, Ayala Malls and Cinema, NGF, Globe and Hopeline a 24 hour prevention on suicide and emotional crisis.

HOW TO START A GREAT CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE YOU MEET..

TIPS ON MAKING A GREAT CONVERSATION WITH

EVERYONE

The art of conversation takes practice and is not as hard as you might think. It will take some knowledge, practice, and patience, and you can learn to relax and enjoy a great conversation.

With these tips you will be well on your way to having a good, meaningful and entertaining conversation with anyone!

Make a good first impression. Smile, ask questions that require more than a yes/no answer, and really listen. Maintain eye contact and keep as friendly and polite as possible.

Listen. This is the most important part of any conversation. You might think a conversation is all about talking, but it will not go anywhere if the listener is too busy thinking of something to say next. Pay attention to what is being said. When you talk to the other person, injecting a thought or two, they will often not realize that it was they who did most of the talking, and you get the credit for being a good conversationalist – which of course, you are!

Find out what the other person is interested in. You can even do some research in advance when you know you will have an opportunity to talk with a specific person. Complimenting them is a great place to start. Everyone likes sincere compliments, and that can be a great ice-breaker.

Ask questions. What do they like to do? What sort of things have they done in their life? What is happening to them now? What did they do today or last weekend? Identify things about them that you might be interested in hearing about, and politely ask questions. Remember, there was a reason that you wanted to talk to them, so obviously there was something about them that you found interesting.

Forget yourself. Dale Carnegie once said, “It’s much easier to become interested in others than it is to convince them to be interested in you.” If you are too busy thinking about yourself, what you look like, or what the other person might be thinking, you will never be able to relax. Introduce yourself, shake hands, then forget yourself and focus on them instead.

Always listen and have ears so that you will not skip some important notes about the topics.

Practice active listening skills. Part of listening is letting the other person know that you are listening. Make eye contact. Nod. Say “Yes,” “I see,” “That’s interesting,” or something similar to give them clues that you are paying attention and not thinking about something else – such as what you are going to say next.

Ask clarifying questions. If the topic seems to be one they are interested in, ask them to clarify what they think or feel about it. If they are talking about an occupation or activity you do not understand, take the opportunity to learn from them. Everyone loves having a chance to teach another willing and interested person about their hobby or subject of expertise.

Paraphrase back what you have heard using your own words. This seems like an easy skill to learn, but takes some practice to master. Conversation happens in turns, each person taking a turn to listen and a turn to speak or to respond. It shows respect for the other person when you use your “speaking turn” to show you have been listening and not just to say something new. They then have a chance to correct your understanding, affirm it, or embellish on it.

Consider your response before disagreeing. If the point was not important, ignore it rather than risk appearing argumentative. If you consider it important then politely point out your difference of opinion. Do not disagree merely to set yourself apart, but remember these points:

It is the differences in people–and their conversation–that make them interesting.
Agreeing with everything can kill a conversation just as easily as disagreeing with everything.

A person is interesting when they are different from you; a person is obnoxious when they can not agree with anything you say, or if they use the point to make themselves appear superior.

Try to omit the word “but” from your conversation when disagreeing.. as this word often puts people on the defensive. Instead, try substituting the word “and”, it has less of an antagonistic effect.

Do not panic over lulls. This is a point where you could easily inject your thoughts into the discussion. If the topic seems to have run out, use the pause to think for a moment and identify another conversation topic or question to ask them. Did something they said remind you of something else you have heard, something that happened to you, or bring up a question or topic in your mind? Mention it and you’ll transition smoothly into further conversation!

Know when the conversation is over. Even the best conversations will eventually run out of steam or be ended by an interruption. Shake hands with the other person and be sure to tell them you enjoyed talking with them. Ending on a positive note will leave a good impression and likely bring them back later for more!

ANOTHER GALLERIA DUEMILA'S GREAT EXHIBIT IN PASAY CITY, PHILIPPINES

In The Aesthetics of Silence, Susan Sontag’s seminal 1969 essay, Sontag investigates how silence reconciles art’s function as a form of spirituality in an increasingly secular culture, she writes, “The art of our time is noisy with appeals for silence. A coquettish, even cheerful nihilism. One recognizes the imperative of silence, but goes on speaking anyway.” In a parallel purview Junyee attempts to estimate his ruminations on silence in The Silence of J, his solo exhibition at Galleria Duemila, wherein approximations of light, space, and perspective are modified, diluted, to a conflicting yet visually decisive investigation on his very own aesthetics of silence.

In The Silence of J, the walls are seamlessly hung with sparse four-sided woodworks, evocative reliefs made from sturdy jointed T&G (tongue-and-groove) planks, whitewashed in ivory, snow, and eggshell—tonal values that have determined the depth and perspective of Yee’s muted permutations. Presenting a flowchart of processes and traces of quaintly discontinued paintjob, he reveals the architectural and utilitarian qualities of the medium, while non-descript shapes—slivers of flaked off paint, and linear dents hint at a feeling of Fontana’s iconic post-object slashes. Much in the way in which his sparse compositions seemingly manifest as diagrams or blueprints of a utopian construct—in the heady technological apocalypse of the now, silence makes perfect sense.

Revered for his use of indigenous resources throughout his practice, Junyee constantly gives weight to the “endless vitality of nature, through inventive art-making”. He pioneered installation art and outdoor installation festivals in the Philippines. He is the sole contemporary bamboo artist in the ASEAN region. An accomplished artist he was nominated for a National Artist Award in Visual Arts in 2012. He won numerous awards and accolades, such as  the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ 13 Artist Award in 1980, Grant Award – Israel Philippines Monument Design Competition for the Holocaust Memorial in 2007, UPAA Distinguished Alumni Award for Arts and Culture and Tanglaw ng Sining Award for Outstanding Alumnus of UP College of Fine Arts in 2013.

FIRST GOVERNMENT EDIFICE INAUGURATED IN TACLOBAN, LEYTE AFTER TYPHOON YOLANDA

The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8—the first government edifice in Tacloban to hoist the Philippine flag after the devastation of typhoon Yolanda—was formally inaugurated last week by Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz.

DOLE’s rehabilitation of its two-storey regional office, which sits on a 5,363 sq. meter lot, amounted to P3.2-million pesos. The DPWH also shouldered a total of P1-million pesos for the repainting of the building

“The recovery and rehabilitation efforts of the DOLE Region 8 was proof of the cohesiveness of the DOLE family,” Secretary Baldoz said.

The Secretary profusely thanked all DOLE regional offices, including DOLE Central Office services, bureaus, and attached agencies, who were quick to dispatch their augmentation team to help DOLE Region 8 management and staff rise from the aftermath of calamity.

“The physical recovery, the technical and administrative operations assistance, and even up to the extent of helping our regional and field offices staff undergo stress debriefing, were commendable manifestations of our solidarity. The ‘bayanihan’ spirit immensely helped DOLE Eastern Visayas be back on its feet. We also commend our DOLE Region 8 management and staff for their resilience,” said Baldoz.

DOLE’s Regional Office in Tacloban also gallantly stood, despite being devastated by Yolanda, as a symbol of indomitable Filipino spirit, according to DOLE Region 8 Director Elias A. Cayanong.

“Ten days after Yolanda, DOLE Region 8 was the first government office in Tacloban City to raise the Philippine flag in its compound in Trece Martires Street, Barangay Libertad. Our water and sanitation facilities also served some international news organization teams who covered the Yolanda aftermath,” Cayanong said.

DOLE central and regional offices, as well as bureaus and attached agencies, sent goods, cash donations, and provided volunteer manpower resources to assist DOLE RO 8’s operations for over a month.

Baldoz likewise mentioned the same laudable recovery and rehabilitation efforts of the National Maritime Polytechnic, an attached agency of DOLE, also located in Tacloban. “Truly, we rebuilt not only edifice; we also restored distressed well-being,” the Secretary said.

Secretary Baldoz and DOLE Regional Office No. 8 Director Cayanong awarded plaques of appreciation to offices, which assisted them in the aftermath of Yolanda. 

Those who received the awards were Office of the Secretary, Offices of Undersecretary Rebecca C. Chato, Undersecretary Ciriaco A. Lagunzad, Undersecretary Nicon F Fameronag; Office of Assistant Secretary Gloria Tango, and Assistant Secretary Katherine B. Brimon.

DOLE Regional Offices (ROs) were also honoured for quickly dispatching assistance to Yolanda-battered DOLE Regional Office No. 8.  

National Capital Region, Regional Office No. 1, Regional Office No. 2, Regional Office No. 3, Regional Office No. 4A, Regional Office No. 4B, Regional Office No. 5, Regional Office No. 6, Regional Office No. 7, Regional Office No. 9, Regional Office No.10, Regional Office No. 11, Regional Office No. 12, Regional Office No. 13, Cordillera Administrative Region, Negros Island Region, as well as Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Office No. 5 (Bicol), OWWA Regional Office No. 13, Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) No. 13, and NCMB Regional Office No. 7, also received their respective commendations.

Likewise honored were Labor Communications Office, Financial Management Service, Human Resources Development Service, Administrative Service, Internal Audit Service, Planning Service, Legal Service, Institute for Labor Studies, Bureau of Local Employment, Bureau of Labor Relations, Bureau of Working Conditions, Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns, International Labor Affairs Bureau, and National Reintegration Center for OFWs, as well as  DOLE attached agencies composed of Occupational Safety and Health Center, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, National Conciliation and Mediation Board, and National Wages and Productivity Commission.

DOLE also recognized the valuable assistance of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office No. 8 and 1st Leyte Engineering District.

Secretary Baldoz also took time to thank the DOLE family for their commitment to the goals of the Department.
