Paint, Sip, Laugh at Sip & Gogh in Makati
He graciously assisted us from start to finish to copy and paint one of Van Gogh, the famous artist's painters, also one of my favorite painter's artists. To my surprise, felt came up with a good painting, whew! I am just too happy I kind of tried-paced it. I feel refreshed, that kind of felt like when I was still a kid. Even though things have changed now with all the fast-paced & busy times were into, we should once in a while take time to stop and get in touch with our inner selves.
The CEO herself Ms. Grace T. Marasigan is very warm to all her guests who visited the place. SURVIVAL THROUGH GRATITUDE AND SIMPLE LIVING
By Camilo Villanueva, Jr.
For someone who’s turning 50 in September and single, living alone in a tiny rented room that can’t be reached by Internet connection, living with medical conditions that require taking more than two dozen maintenance medicines every day, living with no savings or financial safety nets, with your sister in another street and no close friends nearby, it is a miracle to have come this far.
This is why every second of each day is a cause for celebration, every little thing you are able to do is a reason to be grateful and happy because you are still there.
Even with the pandemic making everyday life more difficult than it really is for everyone, you have managed well enough to continue to stick around.
Thank You for the Strength of Memory
Without memory to remind you time and again of what happened, what you did or what others did, you wouldn’t have known what to do to survive.
Your past had been a life-and-death struggle from childhood as a child with a serious case of asthma.
One of your earliest memories is spending sleepless nights with your parents with you keeping watch.
You’re heaving for air, propped by pillows to keep your head up as you lay on the cool glass of the narra dining table. All the jalousies were open to circulate the cool night air.
Your parent's prayers have been answered when you came. And their prayers were answered anew when you survived your childhood limitations. Now, that they’re in Heaven, it’s up to you to soldier on with their inspiration.
You still have asthma and you only have yourself to monitor your body from the inside out the way your parents and your pediatrician did.
Remember what your doctor told you for you to live longer, “Stop doing what you shouldn’t do, and you’d be fine.
Avoid what could be avoided—pollution, too much excitement, running around, getting stressed out by errant thoughts and worries—while keeping your body as cool as possible: avoid drastic changes in temperature.
You only need to remember what made you feel relaxed and comfortable, and do what must be done.
Remember what Angel would ask you to do every day? “Always smile because in doing so you give others reasons to feel good, too, and be happy.”
When you remember, you get strength from a source that is uniquely yours: You’ve been a survivor since you were a child and as an adult, wouldn’t it be any different now that you’re nearly 50?
Memories prop you up because you are now that memory alive. You are part of that one long story that is your life!
Thank You for the Fantastic Joy of and in Simple Things
Growing up with so many physical limitations allowed you to be content with what you can do, be happy with what is around you, and be grateful for everything that you are blessed with.
If that blessing means watching your classmates play tag because running would give you an asthma flareup and a terrible knee pain, then celebrate their joys from afar.
Remember how good it feels to be truly happy for the success of others, and it isn’t always easy.
If that blessing means having a job that requires you to report to work every day despite uncertain times, then celebrate the blessing of having a company shuttle service to take you to work and bring you back home.
Remember how gratitude nurtures the spirit even amid challenges and trials.
You never wanted anything that is beyond your need and capabilities, but this didn’t leave you pining for more, hopelessly dreaming or wallowing in self-pity, because I have accepted and lived with the fact.
A quarter of a century living a life of lack, say Spartan austerity, is no mean feat, and do not want and still continue and be able to still do things is a miracle.
Spending all those years with your Angel and Bogart, because you promised their parents you’d care for them who had nobody, taught you to do what can be done and accept what can’t be changed—and it made life both simpler and happier.
Now that you’re mostly alone, with your roommate coming and going, you celebrate what is essential to daily life.
A simple pinakbet with galunggong becomes a feast in solitude, a night of movies from your laptop becomes a vacation in a faraway land, your trinkets become cool sources of energy and comfort, and sleep becomes a most wonderful experience of rest that no amount of money or power can buy.
The mundane becomes extraordinary miracles.
Even consciously appreciating these things make you feel in control, grounded, and capable, thus, even as the pandemic is claiming lives, you remain steadfast and going.
These little things not only keep your heart busy but keeps your spirit keen.
You feel good for a moment, and you give your life a minute more to live.
Thank You for the Many Little Things to Do
What is life without being able to do the things one can and loves to do, even during a lockdown? You remember, of course, then celebrate the joys.
Growing up unable to physically enjoy others and the world directed you to so many other things that didn’t need much physical effort but gave you equal or even greater rewards!
I have learned to find pleasure in and learn from sitting, strolling, and exploring my surroundings.
Growing up reading as well as looking forward to Nanay’s weekly stash of books from the library and Tatay’s crates of fruits and plants from the province filled your childhood days.
Thus, you found comfort anywhere you find me in, even if it’s just a corner of the world, with your books and notebooks during your teens and your movies as you grew older, you traveled to faraway places, moved in different times, and huddled with all sorts of people.
You learned to imagine and dream without getting lost or desperate or disappointed. You learned to value memory, treasure ideas, and value solitude without falling into inactivity or slack.
Thus, there is no moment even during the lockdown that one is left with nothing to do.
You have been used to being alone at home with your parents working to being alone in an abandoned room, reading and working on projects with Bogart while our Angel looks for food for us, accompanied by the chirping of birds outside the window on the eleventh floor.
Now that there is no academic life to speak of, no more reading and writing at home, and no connection to surf the Internet, there is still your room to attend to, the delicate demands of chores needing doing, and the self to take care of.
In these uncertain times, even watching the food you eat and ensuring you don’t worry enough to sleep on time and get enough rest and sleep are critical tasks that need to be done.
You are lucky to have grown up and met people to learn discipline from and test your will to be able to enjoy only what you must.
Thank You for All the Things that Matter
You’ve realized that the fewer things you have the more valuable each one becomes.
The smaller your place is the more important everything is in that tiny space, the more effort and money relative to your capacity and means that you invest in something, no matter how small, the more priceless that thing becomes relative to your life.
And, thus, the older that you get the happier you become with whatever you’re surrounded with.
Your pair of stainless steel spoon, your recycled plastic containers, your Tamsulosin and Sambong capsules, your soaps from your blog posts, your uniform black T-shirt, your pillow, your beads, your Japanese wooden sandals, your army of tiny trinkets guarding Bogart’s and Angel’s urns are all worth much more than their tag, they’re priceless.
You have survived not so much from memory alone but because there are others, too, propping you up as you continue to live a life of gratitude, trust, and kindness.
Happiness is easy if you have gratitude in your heart and kindness in mind because as everything matters, everything becomes a cause for celebration, too!
And those who celebrate survive! (Camilo Villanueva, Jr.)

HOW TO COPE UP WITH STRESS AND MENTAL HEALTH By Dhadha Garcia
We are living in stressful times. Due to the pandemic situation, many people are struggling to master the art of working from home while balancing the needs of a home-bound family. Many are also stressed over work uncertainties due situations to the fluctuating situation and movement restrictions that are keeping people indoors more often, limiting social interactions and outdoor activities.
In fact, these are the top reasons that contributed to the deterioration of mental health amongst consumers according to the Asia Pacific Health Inertia Survey 2021, where 6 in 10 respondents indicated that both their mental and physical health care is less than ideal state. Those who noticed the deterioration of the latter attributed it to the lack of physical activity, eating more unhealthy food, and lack of community support to continue their exercise regime.
It is at times like these, when we feel the most spent, that we need to remember how to take care of ourselves. Here are 5 hard-earned tips to help you face everything from relearning algebra to handling yet another video conference call.
Here's how to energize when you are feeling down:
MOVE MORE
With all the juggling people are doing to keep themselves and their families thriving, finding time to exercise can sometimes fall off the “must-do” list. Movement releases endorphins, which positively impact our mood and help us reclaim our energy. This is true even when we speak to Asia Pacific consumers for the Health Inertia Survey where 47% of them said exercise helped improve their mental health.
Without a gym or an exercise class to go to in person, many find themselves without a support group to motivate them. Online courses – from yoga to Pilates, and strength training to aerobics – are available, and many are free. Also, a daily walk, bike ride, or run before the family wakes up can help set you in an excellent mood to embrace the day.
EAT UP
Food is fuel and provides much-needed energy to support our bodies. Research shows that during the pandemic, unhealthy snack sales are up as people seek ways to cope by eating comfort foods they previously avoided. This is in line with our findings from ou r Asia Pacific Health Inertia Survey where the main reasons consumers eat less healthily is because they binge-eat when they are anxious and worried, as well as the lack of motivation to eat healthy food.
While challenging, it is important to seek a balanced nutrition diet that provides the nutrients you need to fuel your daily activities and promote and maintain good health. Healthy foods ensure your body gets the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals it needs to work. Mix up your diet with nutritional shakes that add protein – a healthy and delicious way to power up. And to involve your entire household, make healthy eating a family affair by making creative recipes that are sneakily nutritious.
SLEEP SMART
Sleep is key to replenishing our energy levels. During times of stress, people often find sleep more elusive. Creating a sleep space is key to getting good sleep and it starts with a dark room free of distractions. Dedicate your bedroom exclusively to sleep if you are able, so you aren’t tempted to work or do hobbies. Take a break from the digital world and when you head to bed, leave the electronic devices in another place. Like many parents do for their babies, create a sleep ritual: a hot bath, a great book, a cup of herbal tea, and then lights out.
KEEP CONNECTING
Even though you may be surrounded by family and colleagues via video, there is nothing like speaking with a good friend or long-distance relative to laugh and chat. Connections support our health, helping to sustain us during difficult times. Whether you pick up the phone, text, talk, or write an old school friend a letter, connecting with others who lift your spirits is healthy for your well-being; and will help rejuvenate you.
Community support is also beneficial for our fitness and active lifestyle journey. A supportive community of friends, gym or workout mates as well as fitness enthusiasts around can encourage us and keep us on track as we work towards our health goals. The advent of technology has enabled us to also build these communities virtually too, in addition to the groups we build physically. Many health and fitness apps today have a social aspect that enables us to get connected with like-minded individuals or communities to exchange tips and find inspiration for our exercise routine.
Schedule Alone Time
When times are tough, we need to be gentle with ourselves. The best way we can reenergize when we are feeling down is to prioritize and take care of our mental and physical health needs. From healthy eating and exercising to alone time or laughing with a friend, our bodies need help refueling and reenergizing.

Jellybeans
Gel JoseI’m Gel Jose but for most of my life, people have been calling me Jellybeans. I like to try out new cuisines, discover new restos and savor my favorite dishes again and again.
I devour books, particularly historical and biblical fiction. I would even read the classics and some self-help and business books.
I love movies and TV shows of various genres, which include Hollywood blockbusters, shared cinematic universes, and my recent discovery: K-dramas!
I like to create with my hands, from trying out recipes, knitting, crocheting and paper quilling. Heaven only knows what I’ll get around to next.
Having lived all my life in the metro, I try to discover new facets of its cities and surrounding areas to love and share with my friends. Having both a demanding job and a busy home life, I look for ways to balance and enjoy both.

THE NATURE PARK IN THE HEART OF QUEZON CITY By Gel Jose
With the sweltering heat of the summer permeating the drab and grey streets of the metro, it would be nice to go somewhere cool, fresh and green.
Well, wouldn’t you know it! Right in the heart of Quezon City is a place where you can escape to enjoy a bit of nature: the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center.
This 22.7-hectare area located in Diliman, Quezon City is a zoological and botanical garden, named after Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr. It is one of the ninety-four legislated Protected Areas in the Philippines under the Expanded National Integrated Protected Areas System (ENIPAS) Act of 2018.
It is also dubbed as the “Nature Park in the City’s Heart” being the home of various species of flora and fauna while still situated in a busy metropolis.
Here, park visitors can go exploring on pathways that weave through the park’s trees and open grassy areas, perfect places to jog or stroll while enjoying the peace and quiet.
With over 3,000 species of trees, some of which are endemic to the country, the park is also one of Metro Manila’s last remaining greeneries which serve to mitigate urban air pollution and help counter the emergence of Urban Heat Islands (UHIs), metropolitan areas that are significantly warmer than surrounding rural areas due to the daily activities of urban populations concentrated in a small area.
Aside from enjoying the lush greenery, park visitors can view animals as well. As a wildlife rescue and research center, it serves as a quarantine area and rehabilitation center for wild animals captured while lingering in residential areas, or undomesticated animals confiscated from people involved in the illegal wildlife trade or exotic pet owners who are abusive to their animals.
The center also serves as a training ground for practitioners and students of veterinary medicine, zoology, botany, biology and natural science.
For park visitors who want to do a bit of consist or picture-taking, the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center also contains a manmade lagoon that sightseeing houses various fishes. Within its vicinity is a picturesque Fishing Village which consist of five houses on stilts along the edge of the lagoon. These structures are patterned after fishing villages in Mindanao.
The park also houses other attractions which may be rented out:
- A Tea House that may serve as a venue for workshops, meetings and other small parties
- A 250-seater Amphitheater for larger gatherings
- Picnic sheds to shelter people during their visit
For plantitos and plantitas, the Bernie Dizon Botanic Fruit and Techno-Demo Center is also located within the park. Owned and managed by the country’s leading pomologist the garden offers high-quality cuttings and seedlings that will grow into fruit trees for home gardens or farmlands.
The Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center is located along Elliptical Road and North Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City, open daily from 7am to 5pm.
The following entrance fees apply:
- Adults: Php30
- Students: Php15
- Foreigners: Php100
- Senior citizens, PWDs and children below seven years old: FREE.

My dream of becoming a singer dates back to my elementary days. I can still remember the time when I auditioned to join an annual singing contest at school but ended up in the declamation contest instead. ‘But, but, I want to sing!’ I was shouting inside but kept silent outside. My teacher said I’d be better off in that area. Oh well, you guessed it right, I did not win. Good thing is, we won in the singing contest – its just not me representing our batch, sigh.
That episode didn’t stop me from dreaming that one day, I will become a recording artist.
When I was in High School, I really wanted to be part of our batch’s “Maria” the musical play. But as fate would have it, I didn’t make it also. Not even a small part. Sigh, again. But did you think that would make me forget about my dream? Na-ah! (Lakas ng fighting spirit!)
College was on the serious side. Taking up Dentistry at Centro Escolar University, Manila, all I did was study. With singing only as part of the village church choir. After six years in college though, I enrolled with Mr. Butch Albarracin’s Center for Pop Music in Cubao, to further hone my craft.
Then I went to Yamaha School of Music as a School Registrar. And that’ s where I met my friend and bandmate, Maria ‘Nenette’ Gil-Chew. We did gigs in and out of town and auditioned for out of the country stints too. Oh yes the band did go out but, without me. Sigh again! Why is that so? Well that’s another story but I believe it all happened for a good reason.
Anyway, Nette and I parted ways and never heard from each other again for quite a long time. Until technology has given rise to Facebook and found a message coming from her to meet and catch up. Fast forward, I became part of doTERRA Ph with her and hubby Bryan Chew. On the side, we talked about her dream of doing a gospel album with me singing the cover. Wow, just wow! I made it! Who would have thought that at my age, (never mind, lets not mention it here, haha!) I will be able to record songs and fulfill my dream?
It’s surreal seeing my name as a singer on the album. All glory and praise to God!
Mommshies, below is Be Still’s story. I am grateful and honored to be part of this album. The most important lesson of this story – keep dreaming because dreams do come true!
The Creation
Be Still is a praise album created by Maria Chew along with some of her closest friends. It differs from other praise albums in the sense that each song has its own story to tell and is aged through time.
The sound of each song is an expression of how unique God’s creativity flows through every individual. Some chords are unpredictable, some will surprise you, and the creators mostly used 7th & 9 chords in their music. Paired with the unique arrangements by Eric Pablo, this resulted in ensuring that every song is a different experience.
Creating this album for Maria has been a lifelong dream but as with anything worth doing, there were hardships and challenges, the main one being that of scheduling. In God’s perfect time, despite the fact that the creator, singers, and arranger live in different countries, things started to fall into place and in one day, the singers, the recording studio, the sound engineer and everyone’s schedule all matched.
The Singers
The singer for “Be Still” which is the song cover is yours truly. As mentioned above, Maria and I used to be bandmates but lost track of each other and reunited with the help of Facebook. Maria says I was her perfect choice because of my strong solid mature voice, especially when reaching high notes. In the album I sing 3 more songs: “Fullness of Joy,” “Wonderful Savior”, and “Lord of My Life”.
Faith Purificacion sings “Touch My Heart” which is a creation of Pastor Eric as well as “He Restores My Soul” which is a collaboration between Maria and her eldest daughter.
The only male singer in this album is Zaldy Reblora. He is from the music ministry of the church that Maria used to attend to and his voice is perfect for duets as well as “I Pray in Jesus’ Name” which is a song that was composed 20 years ago.
The Cover Song
“Be Still,” is very applicable in today’s predicament, and in any situation people may have. When we are stressed, when we have no peace, when we don’t know what to do, just be still, and seek God. He will give us peace that passes all understanding. Trust in Him because He cares for you. And even when we are happy, be still and meditate on the goodness of God in your life.
This is why the song was chosen. In this day and age where everyone is in a hurry to post, like, share, comment, and just get on with things, it is important to remember that we need to be still and stay still. This is the only way we can communicate with God and hear His message for us. Be still.
Listen to the song “Be Still” through SoundCloud, You Tube, Amazon Music, Apple Music/iTunes, Spotify, and also on other digital stores worldwide. (Jen Blogs)

Capacillo, a practicing lawyer, a graduate at UP Law '80s, and MBA Ateneo and HR Masteral Graduate from Tokyo University, plaque of appreciation for his lecture on Minimal Invasive Cancer Therapy.
I’m grateful that we’re able to make this happen. It’s very easy and very common to let the time pass us by just doing things for survival —like work and maintaining a home doing chores every day. But for me, it’s important to pursue a creative project that doubles as a quality family bonding time at least every weekend. I’m glad we took the time to #MakeTimeforWhatMatters and #MakeTimetoCreate.
I definitely enjoyed being spontaneous —both in asking the questions and in answering the interview when it was my turn. It’s like creative writing but in the form of speaking. I’m excited to get organized in planning our weekly family bonding activities that are both fun and meaningful.
Family bonding goes a bit deeper as emotions are involved. This type of bonding helps family members to learn more about each other’s likes, love and passions. It helps solidify a love like no other person or group could ever provide.

99 VALUE FOR MONEY APARTMENT SUITES
Being a single mom, I was one of those who rushed to the grocery and drugstores to stock for a month or two of supplies of food, medicine and first aid kit. My then 9 year old daughter was clueless about what was happening.
For us adults our worries are focused on keeping our jobs, paying the bills and putting food on the table amidst the pandemic. But most parents like me are also worried about our child’s mental health and socialization aside from school of course.
I decided to move to a nearby province, which is Montalban Rizal. I chose the place because it is less polluted than in the city. We can still continue with our normal lives since she doesn’t mingle with a lot of people and we can still live like it is pre-pandemichands-on.
We learned to be more independent and I was able to teach my child new skills. She learned how to plant herbs and vegetables which we were able to harvest and eat, be hands-on in taking care of her 12 pets, and I taught her how to cook and bake. She also gained new friends, learned how to ride a bike. I thought she wouldn’t miss our old hobbies, like going out of town, camping, going to the beach, theme parks and spending time at the mall.
There are lots of activities that kids can do inside the house which will enhance their skills, thus, I don’t understand why I often read parents venting out on social media why their kids’ mental health are affected by the pandemic, because they are confined inside their houses.
When the lock down was lifted and kids are allowed again to go to the malls, after my daughter saw the swarm of kids in the mall she refused to go to the mall unless it was for something important. She would often ask me when she can go to the beach and or go to theme parks instead. I couldn’t let her go not only because of safety but also because it is quite pricey due to the pandemic. Most families’ budgets are tight and are allotted to important things.
Recently I was able to give in to her whims. Finally we were able to find a place which brings us back to nature with a minimal cost.
It was the first time that I and my daughter. First time going and swimming in a river. I often hear peoples’ stories about going to Wawa for their summer getaways. I would wonder how they possibly swim in a water dam?
Our friends invited us to go to the Wawa River. I googled it and saw the beautiful view of the river and its surroundings. The next day we bought food and chips and brought them with us. I was expecting the place to be crowded, good thing the place is huge and even if there are a lot of tourists on that day, we were still able to find a spot where not a lot of people are swimming. We hiked, trekked, rode a boat and swam.
I’ve been in love with taking photos ever since but my love for photography bloomed when I got a glimpse of the course during college. We had photography and film classes that persuaded me of buying my own second-hand DSLR. I love both cafes and photography which is why I ended up visiting this cafe frequently in Maginhawa, Quezon City even after they moved to Mandaluyong.
Outside the cafe, you can already vibe the photography rush since they have cameras hanging on their walls to welcome you. There are seats outside if you want fresh air. They also allocated smoking areas for those who need it. Inside the cafe, your eyes will be gifted with so many types of cameras either hanged or displayed in every corner of the cafe. They also have hung photos of people who always visit and some photography walls of fame. Their walls are painted with photography-related related icons. There are books, pillows (of course, also photography themed!; wall calligraphies, and photography lights. There are also infographics on how to manipulate camera settings splattered in every corner. There is a printing machine that you can easily connect to your phone. Take a photo on the spot and print it on the spot too!
Their cheesecakes have mini camera designs that are edible. By the way, their cheesecake might look a little plain but I am telling you, this cheesecake should be called cheese bomb cake. The flavors are so rich and this is my comfort food and an all-time favorite in this cafe. Their frappucinos are placed in camera lenses special cups and it really looks so adorable. They also offer pasta in all types of sauces you can think of. They have sandwiches, snacks, rice meals, and salads. Food prices range roughly around 100 to 200 pesos per meal while their drink starts at 50 pesos if you’ll order their basic coffee. And let’s talk about creativity, they also named their menus based on photography terms such as Frapperture for Frappe, ISO for iced drinks while sizes are called pixels and megapixels.
The owner of the cafe really wanted a fusion between photography and cafes. This cafe also offers events that cater to people who are interested in photography classes you can attend whether you are professional or an amateur. They created a community of hobbyist that teaches and promotes Photowalk and photo session for free. They invite professional photographers to lead every session and you can see the output on their Facebook page. Now, you’ll have a hangout place, coffee, food, and a whole new bunch of photography-loving friends. They also offer photography contests in partnership with different photography organizations. The winning photographs are hanged in one of the corners of the cafe.
Aside from photography classes, they also invite musicians to serenade the guests on special days. They announce it on their Facebook page ahead of time. They have efficient customer service and you can just shoot them a message if you’ll want a take out or reservation. I remember reserving the cheesecake since it is always sold out on my succeeding visits. Oh! They also accept reservations for small events and gatherings! The owner of the cafe really wanted a fusion between photography and cafes. MIND, BODY AND SOUL & HOW MEDITATION WORKS
We are living in a stressful environment right now. You might not recognize it, but, it shows in your physical attributes and actions. The way you interact with other people. And, the way you perceive things and situation brings you a lot of discomfort, anxiety and confusion. Are you aware of your movements? Did your body tell you that you're tired and you need a rest? Is your state of mind wandering around? Is your decision-making affected by current events? If you answered yes, I believe you need to walk and feel the breeze. Sometimes, your comfort zone is not enough to maintain your insanity. But, look for ways, to balance your life, your mood for the day and the following days or weeks of your lives. And, one way to achieve that balance is thru Meditation. Here are some types and benefits of meditation. During this pandemic, few hobbies are created, it can be gardening or having a new exercise pattern or any alternative medicine. As long, it is beneficial for you to be happy and feel motivated nowadays.
Mind, Body and Soul & How Meditation Works:
1. Spiritual Meditation
Mental health in the workplace is this year’s theme of World Mental Health Day with the objective of raising mental health and pursuing efforts in support of better mental health. Fortunately, we were invited to the symposium the Department of Psychiatry of the hospital I’m rotating in had conducted!
As usual, my husband and I tagged along. Our son together with his teachers and classmates rode the bus, while my husband and I rode our car.
The resort is a two-hour drive from my son’s school. Since it was going up the mountains, there were some zigzag roads on the way up. Upon arriving at the place, my son, together with his teachers and scoutmasters went to the campsite. My husband and I, on the other hand, decided to explore the sprawling resort. Together with other parents, we went around and took pictures of the place.
Basically, the Sierra Madre Hotel and Resort is more of a camp area than a hotel type. The place is simple and basic. Therefore, exceptional service and amenities should not be expected. The place has a man-made waterfall and they offer zip line adventure.
The place is wide and there are many beautiful areas to go to. If only to experience a scenic view of the mountainside, it is an ideal place for a day trip and a picnic. But other than the scenery the place has nothing else to offer. Feel free to experience walking on their hanging bridge. Maybe great to swim in the pool area but, we haven't tried the pool area. The Gazebo part is quite unique with statues of Goddess of Greek mythology. If you want serene and nature's best place to meditate and usher a prayer'' don't fail to visit their grotto.
The Sierra Madre Hotel and Resort in Tanay, Rizal is a picturesque place. Its site which is at the heels of the Sierra Madre range makes it special.
The view was perfect as it was a great day for us to commune with nature. I enjoyed the view of the mountainside. I enjoyed the blue skies and the cool breeze. It was such a nice unforgettable experience that you will treasure in the years to come.
The Sierra Madre Hotel and Resort is at Km 55 Marcos Highway | Bgy. Mayagay, Tanay, Rizal Philippines. (PierAngeliBlogs)

With many simple yet effective ways to make our everyday lives more sustainable, and with many groups ready to help us take that first step toward a greener future, there is every reason to start today. Living a personal sustainable lifestyle can be impactful only if we do it together to preserve our planet for generations to come.
One of the best things to live sustainably is to reduce your carbon footprint. Many seemingly harmless daily activities can contribute to a higher carbon footprint or other greenhouse gases (GHG) in the atmosphere, leading to dramatic climate changes. An increased carbon footprint includes high electric consumption, driving our cars over short distances, and the excessive use of aerosols and air conditioners, to name a few. Try to identify and minimize these activities if you can, or look for more eco-friendly alternatives, if available.
You can also lower your carbon footprint by using energy efficiently. Use energy-efficient appliances, replace your old lighting fixtures with LED lights, and turn off energy-consuming items when not in use. Doing these eliminates energy waste in your home and helps you save more on utility expenses.
The 2020 Climate Transparency Report disclosed that the Philippines generated 1.18 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per capita in 2017. The country will need to reduce its emissions to below 132 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2030 and below -198 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2050. It is to meet the 1.5°C-compliant climate change mitigation goals of the Paris Agreement, of which the country is a signatory.
Together with the Plastic Credit Exchange, SM Cares helps gather empty, clean, and dry plastic waste at select
SM Supermalls nationwide. Plastic waste may be dropped off every day from 10AM to 5PM.
Another way to make your lifestyle more sustainable is to correctly manage and segregate your garbage. Sort and separate your waste by type (e.g., paper/carton, plastic, glass, metal, electronics, etc.). It helps to find out more about your community’s waste collection and management policies. You can even make extra cash if you dispose of your non-organic waste through the proper channels.
You can also minimize the waste you generate at home. There are many simple ways to do this. It includes reusing plastic bags, opting for eco-bags when shopping, and avoiding single-use items. By being mindful of our food consumption, we can also significantly reduce food waste and packaging.
The 2020 Ocean Conservancy and McKinsey Center for Business and Environment report that the Philippines ranked third among the world contributors to plastic pollution, with 2.7 million metric tons of plastic waste each year.
SM’s Trash to Cash recycling market happens every first Friday and Saturday of the month from 10 AM to 2 PM across all SM Malls and select SDMC Malls nationwide.
As a responsible member of the community, SM has consistently implemented programs to inspire Filipinos to be more sustainable, educating them on the importance of sustainability and how to help protect the environment. It includes the long-running Green Film Festival, which features the free screening of environmental documentaries for students and other program partnerships that promote alternative options to plastic.
SM also has projects that directly engage its mall-goers, focusing on solid waste management. These are the monthly Trash to Cash recycling market and the collection of used lead-acid batteries (ULABs), the Electronic Waste Collection program, and the Plastic Waste Collection program held in partnership with the Plastic Credit Exchange. To date, SM Supermalls has collected more than 11,600 kg. of plastic waste, 2,000 kg. of electronic waste, and 908,000 kg. of assorted recyclable waste.
Customers can drop off their electronic waste at bins in the Cyberzone and select locations of SM Supermalls nationwide.
In addition, SM has been exploring renewable alternatives as its malls’ energy source. For instance, in 2020, the company generated 9,620 MWh of energy from solar roof panels installed in ten different malls nationwide. The company has also completed solar panel retrofits in other malls. SM hopes to achieve its goal of having 50% of the energy it consumes being sourced from renewable sources by the end of this year.
“We have always been an advocate of sustainable living. Proof of this is the numerous environmental initiatives that the company has implemented. We build our malls with the environment and community in mind, and we make sure that our developments contribute to environmental protection,” said Engr. Liza B. Silerio, SM Supermalls’ Corporate Compliance Head. “More importantly, we know that personal sustainability is key to achieving the green future that we want. We will continue to implement programs that encourage positive change within our community partners.”
SM Cares is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of SM Prime Holdings, with programs to support communities, promote social inclusion and care for the environment. Its CSR advocacies include the Environment, Persons with Disabilities, Women & Breastfeeding Mothers, Children & Youth, Senior Citizens, and the Bike-Friendly SM Program. (DianneBlogs)

The perspective of your dream house
It's the holiday season. Many of us are thinking about where to spend our bonuses and savings for this month as a gift for our long year of hard work at the company. But before you get too enthusiastic and crazy about spending your bonuses on the latest gadgets or designer bags and couture, try to take a deep breath first and think about what you really need versus what you really want.
With the pandemic still at large in the country, it’s better if you will allow your hard-earned money to pieces of stuff that really matter and you can use for the long run rather than for short-termed happiness and value.
One of the regret-free gifts that you can give to yourself and your family this Christmas is a home investment. Having your own house and lot is always better than paying monthly rent to an apartment and a house that you can’t call your own.

TO BLOG OR NOT TO BLOG... TO WRITE OR NOT TO WRITE... AND POINTS TO PONDER. By Ver M. Garcia / Admin.
WHAT IS BLOGGING. HOW WILL YOU DEFINE BLOGGING.
Blogging is a skill in writing. You can't just simply write.. it must have a sense of belonging.
Blogging is an art. You can be loved and be dislikened by others.. so one needs strong guts and determination.. it is an essential factor to become a Blogger... Plus with your writing skills. basic computer literacy and a digital camera are important tools in blogging. Blogging is a new and very challenging industry.. not only as a personal enjoyment or as a hobby. But, it's also a source of income or employment as well. The avenue to write or to blog is online offered by some social media outlets and websites or blog sites that one created.
BENEFITS OF BLOGGING:
A blog can boost search engine optimization.
It develops a relationship with potential and existing customers.
It can establish the business as an industry leader.
It can connect people to the blogged site.
It can create opportunities for sharing.
It makes acquiring information about a product easy.
Blogs are a good way to promote products and services online.
It can become a great source of income and attracting people to an existing business.
It helps business bloggers to gain more knowledge in their field.
Having a nice blog is joy in one's heart. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.
As a blogger, everything that you do flows from understanding your audience and seeking to help them as much as possible.
THOUGHTS ABOUT BLOGGING...
Blogging is like a conversation and exchange of thoughts.
Blogging is like a job, but without co-workers seeing you in every detail.
A blog is only as interesting as the interest shown in others.
Blogging is just writing. Writing using a particularly efficient type of publishing technology.
For most of human history, all published writing had been carefully inspected, edited, and approved.
In the last decade, blogging has turned the publishing world on its head. A blog allows you to write and publish anything, from anywhere and have it immediately available to millions of people all around the world. Blogging is a communication mechanism handed to us by the long thread of the Internet.
Blogs are anything that you can write under the moon and the stars.
The first thing you need to decide when you build your blog is what you want to accomplish with it and what it can do to become successful. Don’t try to plan everything out to the very last detail. The casual conversational tone of a blog is what makes it particularly prominent and remarkably astounding. Not only are bloggers who write anything remarkable, the same with the people who read blogs. When you write remarkable content, you stay engaged and excited with your blog. Your readers follow suit.
The Internet is about the availability of information or the internet of things (IoT), blogging is about making information creation available to anyone. Think like a journalist; the media we work on our blog sites or the websites and other social media platforms. There are voluminous of different factors that get classified and ranking as well, but the biggest is high-quality content. Your ultimate consumers are your subscribers, friends, and member requests accepted in all social media platforms and followers, not the search engines. Some social media platforms limit your friends to only 5,000 but you can create another account to increase your audience. That's more tangible and you can make an actual engagement when you post campaigns and important announcements.
Blogging is hard because of the grind required to stay interesting, credible, and relevant. If you want to continually grow your blog, you need to learn to blog consistently. You can work quite hard, in particular online, and do quite well independently, but if you really want to grow you need points of leverage and most of them come from knowing people. Engage and meet them. Attend events and invites it will enrich your horizons. Submit your article on time, which will endear you to the person who invited you. Befriend them, there's no substitute for friendship. Always keep on smiling.
SMILE...
A smile costs nothing, but it gives you so much. It enriches those who give it. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
WRITING MUSIC, FASHION, FOOD, LIFESTYLE, TRAVEL, ENTERTAINMENT, PLACES & EVENTS, ARTS, ENVIRONMENT, SPORTS, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, ETC.:
Social media is around for a long time because we value our relationships with one another above just about everything else. A blog entry isn’t just a chat box or text, but a slice of humanity and an opportunity to begin a real conversation. Social media is not about one-time hits. It’s about building a loyal following over time.
First-time bloggers (newbies) often were seeking a large wave of traffic on his/her sites (people who visited your sites) that come with a viral post or a big media mention. Then… and they come to realize that those surges in traffic are made up mostly of people who aren’t very engaged and who don’t stick around for very long. There’s a lot of information out there for free, so you’ve got to figure out what makes your information different.
CREATING A CONTENT AND SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
What you do after you created your content is what truly counts.
The term ‘Professional, Junior, Viral, Trending, Bloggers, Videobloggers, Brand Influencers, Entertainment & Fan Influencers, Social Media Influencers, Digital influencers, Most Influential Blogger’ is now a reality addressed to some enterprising and influential bloggers. Making money from blogging requires you to do is to drive a lot of traffic, then maximize the income from that traffic. But, content creation brings money also to the table. Companies will hire you because of the content you share and that makes their products more interesting and appealing. You earn money also with extraordinary photos. So take a shot and hone up your skills in photography. Bloggers seeking to make money from blogging, need to think also of another alternative stream of income revenue so as not to put all their eggs in one basket. We need to have another source of income. The currency of blogging is authenticity and trust. Most people think that the ‘currency of blogging is the actual currency (money). They think readers' authentic, valuable blog posts will give money in return.
Blogging is not a business by itself. It is a promotional platform, archiving platform, and connecting people places, and events. The key to a huge income as a blogger is a blog with a business backend. But, it is not constant and stable. It should feel genuinely good to earn income from your blog and you should be driven by a healthy ambition to succeed. If your blog provides genuine value, you fully deserve to earn income from it.
Blogging is good for your career. A well-executed blog sets you apart as an expert in your field.
Increasingly, employers are interested in hiring people who’ve cultivated an influential online presence. So sometimes the best resume is a blog. A well-maintained blog establishes your authority in a niche by showcasing your knowledge and dedication to the topic.
The Internet destroyed most of the barriers to publication. The cost of being a publisher dropped to almost zero with two interesting immediate results: anybody can publish, and more importantly, you can publish whatever you want. One must be careful about everything that you publish online: Speak the truth with your head connected to your heart. Think wisely before you post. We are bounded by the laws of the land. But, our right to express and say it.. is a guaranteed bill of rights in our constitution.
If you accept all the praises, you have to accept all the bashing and oppositions or negative comments.
In truth, the real opportunities for building authority and bashing through social media have only just begun. You simply have to look and see where things are going instead of where they’ve been.
There are no lines in the sand in the blogosphere except for those who draw those lines to get attention. It is a new paradigm in the digital industry.
Blogging is a new and evolving industry.. not only as a personal enjoyment or as a hobby. But, it's also a source of income or employment as well.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF WRITING ONLINE OR BLOGGING: LET'S GROW ORGANIC OR NATURAL
It can become a great source of attracting people to an existing business.
It helps business bloggers to gain more knowledge in their field.
PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD... SAME WITH BLOGGING OR WRITING ONLINE
IT CAN MAKE OR BREAK. SO, THEREFORE, BE RESPONSIBLE. THINK WISELY BEFORE YOU POST
THE POWER OF POETRY (SAME WITH THE POWER OF BLOGGING)...
Poetry takes more than a good mind
Write through your heart and you'll find
Seek from inside yourself the magic
Embrace it and forget about the tragic.
In poetry, the pen is my strong sword
And paper protects my only word
You can make a single stain
But learn how to remove the pain.
Write a poem that's rare
Bring out yourself and share
Follow your heart and it will be fine
Be sincere and you will shine.
Poem writing is special
And living with it is crucial
Write down and don't miss a thing
Share it and it will mean everything.
Poems can connect to your heart
And a signal for you to start
A good poet writes a poem sincerely
Grab a pen and write fearlessly.
LET'S GROW ORGANIC OR NATURAL:
We created this to promote your blogs/videoblogs. To enhance our writing skills. To post our events that need to be blogged. This will help create an audience on your platform. To help our teens and newbies to hone their skills in writing. This will help you get events for engagements. Companies, Corporates, PR's, Advertising Agencies, and Start-Ups were posting in our group... if they are in need of writers online and video bloggers. By the way, when you OPEN or post an event you need a blogger/video blogger to promote your products and services. You need to learn also how to CLOSE the thread as a courtesy to those who have applied and for others who are also interested to join your event. Please give other companies and event organizers the chance to get or hire other capable and competent bloggers/vloggers. Having too many inquiries are a joy in one's heart. But, you need to carry only what you can. Replying to say 50 inquiries are very tedious. If you are serious about reading all their blogs or articles and watching them all on their channels... it takes a lot of time to review all of them. It's like reading 2 pocketbooks in one sitting. We are not a beauty contest here, bring as many as you can. This is engaging the bloggers to an event wherein you can show your wares or talents in blogging/vlogging. Reply and don't leave them hanging. Be Responsible. Be Transparent. In that way, you will gain respect and goodwill.
God Almighty is our guiding light and armor! Avoid libel suits by giving proofs, facts, or affidavits. Please like the page. Thank you very much.
Strictly no pornography and distasteful nudity. Using and uttering vulgar and indecent language is not allowed. We will remove a member who will post pornography and nudity.. or any fake news or fake information.
Strictly... No Data Mining... Just post what you need and your requirements. (VerGarciaBlogs)
