THE 30th SEA GAMES INCLUDES eSPORTS IN THE MEDAL TALLY

The eSports enthusiasts and players jubilantly rejoice with the upcoming 
30th SEA Games on November 30 to December 11, 2019, that will be held in 
the newly constructed Philippine Stadium at the Clark City in Subic, Pampanga, Philippines. Esports World Federation (ESWF), President Arniel Gutierrez 
break the news recently that his team was assigned to manage the beauty and 
the intricacies  of eSports in the Philippines, with the staging and inclusions 
of eSports as a gold medal potential sports in the Southeast Asian Games.

ESports is a competition using video games. 'ESWF aims to develop eSports 
both locally and internationally as a recognized amateur sport with highhopes  
and that the discipline becomes a medal event in the Olympics, avers Gutierrez. 
ESWF was given the right to handle the eSports World Cup here next year.
The first initially recorded eSports. By the most accounts was an official video
game competition documented on record was held at the Stanford University
on October 19, 1972. That sports event was participated in by athletes in a game
called Spacewar, a space battle digital game developed in 1962.

The international federation for eSports, Gutierrez said that ESWF would 
facilitate eSports in the SEA Games in cooperation with the Asian Electronic 
Sports Federation, the body authorized by the Olympic Council of Asia, (OCA).

'We believe that our goal and efforts toward making eSports into an 
internationally recognized sport and the sports discipline may be in line with
 the current requirements of Philippine sports,' enthralled Gutierrez, in his 
missive to the Philippines Olympic Committee, (POC) president Ricky Vargas.
Guttierrez avers that the ESWF in partnership with the Philippine Collegiate 
Champions League (PCCL) for the staging of school-sanctioned tournament 
and competition at the Philippines Inter-Schools Colleges Universities Athletic 
Association commencing this upcoming month of June.
