It’s certainly true that public funding for emerging filmmakers has lessened up. Furthermore, the rapid development of digital technologies has made it easy for those interested to make their own backyard indie. Most of the people tend to think that this makes getting a piece of the investment pie all the more difficult, but it’s not always the case, and you can certainly learn from Scott Rosenfelt, a successful and multi-awarded independent filmmaker from Hollywood. He's also a member of the Directors Guild of America. He is coming to the Philippines to conduct a Seminar and workshop on Producing Film Making Workshop by Scott Rosenfelt on September 21, 2019 (Sat.). Rosenfelt is one of the most successful producers in Hollywood. He has been a guest lecturer on films at the New York University, USC and UCLA. Mr. Rosenfelt is a member of the Directors Guild of America, Writers Guild of America and the Academy of Motion Pictures and Arts and Sciences.

Avail of this once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and work with him. This is what you will learn if you will attend the seminar and workshop in Film production with some stages:

  • Development: The first stage in which the ideas for the film are created, rights to books/plays are bought, etc., and the screenplay is written. Financing for the project has to be sought and obtained.
  • Pre-Production: Arrangements and preparations are made for the shoot, such as hiring cast and film crew, selecting locations and constructing sets.
  • Production: The raw footage and other elements for the film are recorded during the film shoot.
  • Post-Production: The images, sound, and visual effects of the recorded film are edited and combined into a finished product.
  • Distribution: The completed film is distributed, marketed, and screened in cinemas and/or released to TV or home video.

A film producer is a person who oversees film production project either employed by a production company or working independently, producers plan and coordinates various aspects of film production, such as selecting the script, coordinating writing, directing, and editing, and arranging to finance.
The producer also supervises the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of filmmaking. One of the most important tasks is to hire the director and other key crew members. Whereas the director makes creative decisions during the production, the producer typically manages the logistics and business operations, though some directors also produce their own films. The producer is tasked with making sure the film is delivered on time and within budget and has the final say on creative decisions.

Marketing of Films and Distribution Channel

Finally, the producer will oversee marketing and distribution.
Analogous to most any business venture, financing of a film project deals with the study of filmmaking as
the management and procurement of investments. It includes the management of the dynamics of assets and liabilities required in the film making industry, from the time of early development through the management of profits and losses after distribution under conditions of different degrees of risk and uncertainty. The practical aspects of filmmaking finance can also be defined as the science of the money management of all phases involved in filmmaking. Film finance aims to price assets based on their risk level and their expected rate of return based upon anticipated profits and protection against losses.

Some investors are so eager to see a brilliant return on their investment while others just want the chance to be a player in the entertainment industry. Either which way, there is a need to show that you’ve got the excellent and the right idea, at the right time, and a business plan to back it up. The seminar will equip you on how to turn your ideas into reality and how to protect them from being exploited by others.
