Philippines to Host 36th International Biology Olympiad at Ateneo de Manila University

Quezon City, Philippines — The Philippines is proud to host the 36th International Biology Olympiad (IBO 2025) from July 20 to 27, 2025, at Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.
Organized by the Philippine Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) alongside Ateneo de Manila University, this esteemed global event will bring together top secondary school biology students from over 78 countries for a week of scientific excellence, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
Event Schedule
- Opening Ceremony: Sunday, July 20, 2025
- Practical Exams: Tuesday, July 22, 2025
- Theoretical Exams: Thursday, July 24, 2025
- Closing & Awards Ceremony: Sunday, July 27, 2025
Participants will be tested on a variety of topics, including molecular biology, genetics, anatomy, ecology, and biosystematics, through both theoretical and practical lab exams. Outstanding students will receive gold, silver, and bronze medals for their skills and innovative thinking in biology.
